City considers dog park possibilities | Community Spirit
A Monona city department is asking for resident input on a possible dog park.
A survey from Monona Parks & Recreation asks 16 questions related to creating a new park for pets or allowing leashed dogs at an existing Monona park.
To take the survey, visit http://mymonona.com/758/Dog-Park-Proposal and click "ONLINE SURVEY."
In the survey, participants are asked to rank possible locations for a dog park including the city's open space near Kohl’s on South Towne Drive, near the Public Works Facility, at Waterman Way Park, and the west side of the lagoon at Winnequah Park.
Parks & Recreation Director Jake Anderson said everyone is invited to provide input, whether or not they own a dog, before May 9 when the online questionnaire closes.
The parks department will hold a public hearing May 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Monona Library in the Forum Room to share survey results and discuss dogs at public parks.
